Cristo nos acoge en el Arca de la salvación - Christ welcomes us in the Ark of salvation

 Así pues, en otro tiempo se dijo al antiguo Noé que hiciera un arca y metiera en ella no tan sólo sus hijos y sus parientes sino animales de toda especie. De la misma manera, en la consumación de los siglos, fue dicho por el Padre al Señor Jesucristo, nuestro nuevo Noé, el solo Justo y el solo Perfecto (Gn 6,9), que se hiciera un arca de madera labrada a escuadra y le dio las medidas que están llenas de misterios divinos (cf Gn 6, 15). Esto se indica en el salmo que dice: “Pídemelo y te daré en herencia las naciones, en posesión los confines de la tierra” (2,8).

Reflexión: Orígenes os señala una analogía muy importante: el arca de Noe simboliza el Arca de la Salvación que aparece al resucitar el Señor. ¿Quién no desea cobijarse en el Arca de la Salvación? Sobre todo cuando sabemos que cada día estamos más cerca de terminar nuestra existencia. Quien no sea cobijado en el Arca de la Salvación, será arrastrado por las aguas del diluvio de la mundanidad. Pero, al igual que muchos rechazaron la invitación al Banquete de Bodas, muchos rechazan la salvación porque están entretenidos con las cosas del mundo.

And so, in former times, Noah was told to make an ark and bring into it not just his sons and relatives but animals of every kind. In the same way, at the consummation of time, the Father told our Lord Jesus Christ, our new Noah, he who alone is Good and Blameless (Gn 6:9), to have an ark of wood made and to give it measurements that are full of divine mysteries (cf Gn 6:15). This is shown in a psalm that says: “Ask, and I shall give you the nations for an inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession» (Ps 2:8).

Reflection: Origen points out an essential analogy: Noah's ark symbolizes the Ark of Salvation that appears when the Lord is resurrected. Who does not want to shelter in the Ark of Salvation? Especially when we know that every day we are closer to ending our existence. Who is not protected in the Ark of Salvation, will be dragged by the waters of the flood of worldliness. But, many rejected the invitation to the Wedding Banquet. In the same way, many reject salvation because they are entertained with the things of the world.
