Dichoso, pues, el que se mira como un extranjero, y sabe dar abundantemente las gracias incluso por los más pequeños beneficios recibidos, teniendo en cuenta que todo lo que se da a un extranjero y a un desconocido es un don puramente gratuito. Por el contrario, que desdichados y miserables somos cuando, después de habernos mostrado timoratos, humildes y devotos olvidamos seguidamente cuán gratuito es lo que hemos recibido...

Reflexión: En este mundo todos somos extranjeros. Todos vivimos de paso. El objetivo es llegar hasta la Tierra Prometida, la Jerusalén Celeste, la Gloria de Dios. El camino que nos lleva a Cristo es la humildad y la paz. Detenernos en el camino para llenarnos de soberbia, no nos ayudará a llegar lejos. Hemos recibido tantos dones, que no deberíamos dejar de compartirlos con los demás. De esa forma, todos unidos, llegaremos antes ante Cristo nuestro Señor.

Happy, then, are they who think of themselves as strangers and who give great thanks for even the least blessing, thinking that everything given to a stranger and foreigner is a wholly free gift. How unfortunate and wretched we are, on the other hand, if after first of all appearing timid, humble and pious we then forget just how freely given is what we have received...

Reflection: In this world, we are all foreigners. We all live by the way. The goal is to reach the Promised Land, the Celestial Jerusalem, the Glory of God. The path that leads us to Christ is humility and peace. Stopping along the way to fill ourselves with pride will not help us get far. We have received so many gifts that we should not stop sharing them with others. That way, all united, we will arrive before Christ, our Lord.
