Piedras vivas - Living stones

Sois las piedras del templo del Padre, talladas para el edificio construido por Dios el Padre, elevadas hasta la cumbre por Jesucristo, que es la piedra angular, por el Espíritu Santo. Vuestra fe os eleva a las alturas y la caridad es el camino que os eleva hasta Dios. Sois todos compañeros de ruta, portadores de Dios y de su templo, portadores de Cristo, llevando los objetos sagrados, adornados de los preceptos de Jesucristo. Con vosotros me siento lleno de alegría... Mi gozo consiste en ver que viviendo en una vida nueva, no aspiráis a nada fuera del amor de Dios.

Reflexión: Aunque seamos siervos inadcuados e inútiles por nosotros mismos, Dios nos ofrece su Gracia para formar parte de su plan. Quiere que seamos piedras vivas que contruyan su Iglesia en este mundo. Piedras que demos soporte a otros que necesitan de los dones que Dios nos ha dado. Piedras que soporten las envestidas del mundo y del maligno. Nada de esto lo podemos hacer con nuestras fuerzas humanas. Necesitamos de la Gracia que nos transforma y convierte en piedras del Edificio divino que construye el Señor.

You are stones of the temple, prepared beforehand for a building of God the Father, being raised to the heights by the engine of Jesus Christ, which is the Cross, using as your rope the Holy Spirit. Your faith is the windlass, and love is the way which leads up to God. So then, you are all companions in festal procession along the way, bearing your God and shrine, bearing Christ and your holy treasures, fully arrayed in the commandments of Jesus Christ. And in your rejoicings I too have a part...: I rejoice with you that you love nothing pertaining to the outward life, but God only.

Reflection: Although we are ungovernable and useless servants for us, God offers us His Grace to be part of his plan. He wants us to be living stones that build his Church in this world. Stones that give support to others who need the gifts that God has given us. Stones that support the blows of the world and the evil one. None of this can be done with our human forces. We need the Grace that transforms us and becomes stones of the divine Building that the Lord builds.
