Y por si había entre los que lo oían algunos que, ignorantes de la enseñanza profética, supusieran que no podían conocer el curso de los tiempos, muy oportunamente añadió: "¿Y por qué no juzgáis por vosotros mismos, lo que es justo?" Dando a entender que aun cuando ellos desconocían la ciencia, podían, sin embargo, comprender por la razón natural, que el que hacía cosas que ninguno otro hacía, estaba sobre el hombre y era Dios. Y por consiguiente que, después de las injusticias de esta vida, habría de venir el justo juicio del Creador.

Reflexion: Cristo nos enseña que Dios nos ha dado capacidad de juzgar lo que sucede y aprender de ello. Cuando no queremos juzgar lo evidente, somos hipócritas. Hipócritas porque sabemos lo que sucede y preferimos hacer como si nada pasase. Pero Dios nos juzgará tanto por atrevernos a juzgar lo que no podemos hacer: a nuestros hermanos, como por no juzgar al mundo, que se precipita constantemente al abismo.

But lest any of the people should allege their ignorance of the prophetical books as a reason why they could not discern the courses of the times, He carefully adds, And why even of yourselves judge you not what is right, showing them that although unlearned they might still by their natural ability discern Him, who did works such as none other man did, to be above man, and to be God, and that therefore after the injustice of this world, the just judgment of the creation would come.

Reflection: Christ teaches us that God has given us the ability to judge what happens and learn from it. When we do not want to judge the obvious, we are hypocrites. Hypocrites because we know what happens, and we prefer to do as if nothing happened. However, God will judge us so much for daring to judge what we cannot do: our brothers, and for not judging the world, which continually rushes into the abyss.
