Tengamos la soberbia lejos del corazón - Let's have pride far from the heart

Now our Lord, in a remarkable manner, in order to put down high thoughts in the hearts of His disciples, Himself related the account of the fall which the teacher of pride suffered; that they might learn by the example of the author of pride, what they would have to dread from the sin of pride. Hence it follows, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.  (Saint Gregory, Moralium 24, 7 super Job 32, 8)

Reflection: When Adam and Eve decide to eat the forbidden fruit, they do so because they want to be "like God." Our society believes itself superior to God. We despise the hand that comes to save us and raise us to Glory. Pride blinds us and binds us to everyday goods.
